Pandemic Academy - Where You Have the Choice
2019 – 2020 school year ended quite interesting… all students were sent home to learn virtually due to a global pandemic. This is seriously something no one has ever planned for. So, here we are summer is coming to an end, the new school year is quickly approaching and the COVID-19 curve does not seem to flatten… Now what?!

Road Trip Essentials with Kids
This summer we have planned more local trips than past summers because of Covid 19. It helps that my sister lives in Orlando and has a beach house in Daytona (available on air BNB https://abnb.me/zSjPOOXMH8)
During these 3 hour rides, I now rely on these quick and easy road trip essentials to entertain my 6 year old.

Pokémon Go!
What are we doing today? Does this question sound familiar, especially with Covid- 19 when we no longer have the playground, indoor playground or getting together with friends. It was a daily struggle until we found Pokémon Go. Now we have something to do everyday and no longer have to wonder what to do. We get to go outdoors and spend some family time.

Summer Fun at Secret Woods Nature Center in Dania Beach
While some places are starting to open up during this pandemic, there are still a lot of venues, playgrounds, facilities that are not yet open for families in Broward county.
We spent a good part of the morning at Secret Woods Nature Center in Dania Beach. There were no crowds but there were a few people out and about enjoying the trails.

Summer Staycation!
After many months in quarantine due to covid-19, school finally out for summer and having to cancel one of our annual summer vacations I decided it was time to book a staycation.
We packed up our luggage and drove 15 mins to the Pelican Grande Beach Resort. Alas, we finally made it! We valeted our car and immediately got our masks on since the new norm since March 2020, required masks.

A Better Future
Let’s be real here. We are moms. We live in the United States of America. We all want the best for our children and bright futures. Unfortunately, some children of ours have more odds stacked against them than others. The least we can do, as parents is, educate. Let’s talk to our kids about history; the history in the books at school and the history that was lived but rarely taught. Let’s talk about race and how it affects some more than others. Let’s do our part.
