While some places are starting to open up during this pandemic, there are still a lot of venues, playgrounds, facilities that are not yet open for families in Broward county.

We spent a good part of the morning at Secret Woods Nature Center in Dania Beach. There were no crowds but there were a few people out and about enjoying the trails.

When I called for the hours, there was a recording with times and protocols to follow. Please bring your mask and practice 6 feet social distancing. They are open from 9-5 for passive and limited recreation including walking on trails.

Also, plan for the hot, tropical summer weather of South Florida and bring water with you. There are plenty of shaded areas and benches to take a break, but it’s HOT out there!

There is limited use of water fountains and restrooms there.

We were able to walk through the butterfly  garden after we successfully completed 1 loop around the nature trails and boardwalk.

Birds and crabs were in plain view and there are lots of beautiful trees and plants to learn about while you are there.

Parking is free. Entry is free.
