Even though I’m afraid of heights, I was able to enjoy a spectacular hot air balloon event at the International Polo Club Palm Beach.
We got there early so we wouldn’t miss a thing. Note to anyone who has never attended a hot air balloon event, bring a folding chair or blanket. Everyone sat at the perimeter of the hot air balloons and literally camped out until the end. There were also some bleachers and VIP areas for additional seating. Families with strollers, young couples, extended families, out of town visitors and locals with their dog and football came out to watch these gorgeous balloons.
We walked onto the polo grounds in Wellington, past the cotton candy vendors, jerk chicken, turkey leg and all variations of delicious fair food. There is plenty to eat and drink, both non alcoholic and alcohol libations.
Bring cash (or use cash apps) for local crafts vendors. There is also a inflatable bounce house area set up for $10 admission, which is for the entire night.
The setting is beautiful, the rides are tethered, the families are friendly and the event is organized.
Entrance is charged by the car load and tickets sold separate for balloon rides.
